A few years ago, a connection to the Arts and Crafts movement emerged in my work. I noticed in a photo of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Storer House livingroom in L.A. a vase next to the fireplace. The vase has external buttressing supporting a shape that would otherwise be too tippy to survive. My flat side panels and external legged pot are a development of that idea.
