The use of buttresses with the vases has allowed me to create a thinner, lighter profile that can still remain functional as a vase.  The most extreme have the foot of the vase narrowing to an edge. It supports the pot front to back – the buttresses keep it from tipping side to side. This investigation seems to continually offer new possibilities to me.
